ANIMAL rights campaigners staged a Halloween demonstration outside the Sequani laboratory in Ledbury on Monday., (October 31).
They say they were there in protest at animal experiments being carried at Sequani, off the Bromyard Road.
The event was organised by Hereford Animal Protection League alongside the Worcestershire Vegans & Veggies, with campaigners dressing in Halloween costumes to mark the day and emphasise their opposition to animal testing.
Worcestershire Vegans & Veggies' Communications Officer, Ronald Lee, said: "The main focus of our group is on promoting a humane diet and lifestyle.
"As it was Halloween, protesters dressed in ghoulish costumes to emphasise the terrifying nature of what happens to animals in laboratories."
A Sequani spokesman said: "As a life science business we are sometimes the target of animal rights campaigners who protest at our premises and on Monday 31 October six (6) protestors demonstrated at our site.
"We support legitimate animal welfare concerns, and the law abiding groups that represent them and support the right to protest as a fundamental democratic freedom, and deplore any campaign of intimidation and harassment often used by groups against research organisations and their staff."
