Allen's hat-trick lifts Town

BROMYARD TOWN 4, SHAWBURY UNITED 2

BROMYARD Town bagged three vital West Midlands Premier Division points with a 4-1 home win over Shawbury United.

Striker Chris Allen and defender Wayne Hoskins produced outstanding displays to help lift Town off the bottom of the league table.

Bromyard opened brightly and Allen broke clear to score his first goal on 10 minutes.

In the 25th minute, Allen's pace again took him past his marker to coolly slot home.

The visitors looked dangerous on the break but the experienced Hoskins snuffed out every move assisted by Matt Gray and Adie Crowther.

On the hour mark, Allen completed his hat-trick with a superb effort after out-stripping Shawbury's defence.

The visitors still kept pressing and got a goal back on 69 minutes.

But, with 10 minutes left, Alex Taffe was brought down in the box and the resulting penalty was confidently converted by Tony McLean.
