QUEEN Elizabeth High School U12 cricket team took part in the Weobley 6-a-side tournament and walked off with the trophy.
The weather conditions were certainly not conducive for cricket with spells of wind and rain. However, this did not perturb the seven secondary schools taking part.
In the first round, QE beat Fairfield. In the semi-finals QE took on Wigmore High School; a very close game that saw QE triumph by only two runs.
QE played Whitecross Sports College in the final. The Bromyard school batted first, scoring 44.
Whitecross attacked from the start with opening batters scoring well. They required six to win off the last ball, but captain Nick Leighton delivered a fantastic ball, taking middle wicket.
The winning team comprised of Nick Leighton (captain), Dan Masters, Lee Taylor, Luke Hadley, Timmy Oliver, Will Day and Josh Weaver.
