Youth theatre to look at artistic standards
A Youth Theatre based at the Market Theatre in Ledbury will take part in a national research project to examine artistic standards.
The Courtyard's Youth Theatre project has been chosen out of hundreds of candidates for its existing excellence.
Sarah Thomas, education officer and youth leader at The Courtyard said: "We are committed to providing the highest quality of teaching to allow children from every background to expand their creative potential.
"The research project, carried out by the University of Warwick, aims to discover the types of practices that best develop quality artistic standards and address under-representation in youth theatres."
She added:"We plan to develop an even better programme for our youth theatre."
The Youth Theatre meets at the Market Theatre every Tuesday, from 4pm to 4.45pm for youngsters aged from four to seven and from 5pm to 6pm for children aged seven and over.
