SO far in 2017 Sunderlands have held two property auctions. Last week six lots went under the hammer at Hereford Rowing Club and the week before two lots at Vowchurch Memorial Hall.

A packed Memorial Hall at Vowchurch saw two lots on offer which both sold for well in excess of their guide prices.

The Old Rectory at Turnastone had created a huge amount of interest. It has great potential to be improved as well as some off lying land and an interesting barn which could be converted (subject to consent). The property eventually sold for £266,000.

A former timber yard in Middleton, near Hay-on-Wye also went under the hammer at a guide price of £25,000 and subsequently sold for £48,000.

There were two lots of land on sale, 28 acres of farm land at Pudlestone, near Leominster and this made £237,000 and a small parcel of woodland in Bredenbury made £28,000. Sycamore Cottage, a property set off a quiet country lane near Peterchurch was guided at £200,000 - £225,000 and sold well with fierce bidding, ending in an eventual sale figure of £252,000. Sycamore Cottage had been occupied by the same family for over 100 years so it was obviously an emotional day for the seller, but also a happy one. Following the auction, the delighted client commented "Everything was Bob on from start to finish".

The property known as The Chantry, White Rocks near Garway Hill had created a lot of interest prior to the auction with many viewers enjoying the breathtaking views overlooking Monmouth and surrounding countryside. The property also successfully sold on the night.

Sunderlands are planning a property auction in early May 2017 and welcome and further lots. For more details please call 01432 356161.
