THE Brightwells autumn two day auction on November 4-5 will offer around 800 quality lots, which includes items from a deceased estate from a large country house near Ludlow, two other Shropshire deceased estates and another from Ross-on-Wye, along with many other private consignments. The sale also contains an interesting single owner collection of ethnic items, including carved chairs, carved animal masks and tribal artefacts.

Some of the furniture highlights of the sale include an impressive Dutch floral marquetry cabinet, two extensive sets of chemist drawers, oak dresser bases and country items in the furniture section.

Amongst the jewellery is a stunning Art Deco diamond necklace, various diamond and other rings, lady's and gentleman's wrist watches.

The auction contains an eclectic mix of pictures dating from the 17th-late 20th century, mainly consigned from private sources in Herefordshire and Shropshire. Victorian and Edwardian works predominate, with a diverse range of watercolours, oil paintings and prints. A collection of paintings from Ludlow includes a number of portraits, and a fine work by Otto Theodore Leyde (1835-1897) depicting Children playing in the Garden of the Hall at Wirksworth.

One of the top prices in the coin section is likely to be achieved by an Italian Gold 100 Lire, which commemorates the 25th anniversary of Vittoria Emanuele III.
