MATTHEW Bourne's The Car Man passionate and evocative dance sensation is back on tour for the first time in eight years - welcome to the fateful small town of Harmony, USA where an inferno of lust, violence and bravado unfolds set principally around a 1960's garage. The score, inspired by Bizet's opera masterpiece 'Carmen'.

Never unrefined, Bourne one of the UK's leading dance director's gets stuck in to brutality, sexuality and abuse through some excellent and imaginative choreography. There is plenty of eye catching flesh and the shower scene early on went down well with the audience on the opening night.

When stranger Luca (Chris Trenfield) hits town, a drifter, who turns the lives of those around Dino's garage and diner upside down Luca is taken on as a 'car man' at Dino's. There are several twists and turns throughout which finally catch up with Luca following lots of sexual activity that includes bedding Dino's frustrated other half Lana (Zizi Strallen) who clearly has the hots for Luca with a tantalising lust... the subsequent death of Dino, the false accusation of murder for Angelo and ultimately the fall of Luca himself.

The dancers take advantage of the fabulous huge set performing outstanding routines that ooze raw sexuality as the love and lives of a group of young people interact in a story of lust, murder and betrayal. Intense and energetic The Car Man promises to delight and challenge you.

Runs until Saturday, 23rd May at the Bristol Hippodrome
