IT'S late 1962 hemlines are rising and Bobby and Laura following the success of their number one hit are at sixes and sevens with neither their career or relationship developing, and whilst the Beatles were looking forward to taking on the world Bobby returns to his old band which leaves Laura on her own...

The show opened with the song A Picture of You although the production seemed to lack a little umpfh early on The Liverpool Foursome got it in to its stride with a rocking Twist and Shout.

Ray and Donna seem blissfully happy, Norman the drain and Sue are married and are expecting their first baby.

Laura (Elizabeth Carter) is an accomplished performer with a charming voice, it would be remiss of me not to mention the strong powerful vocals of Sue played by Laura Darton.

Throughout the show the hits kept coming, sung with integrity, a talented cast of sixteen that never missed a beat with half of them playing a musical instrument, on what had been a miserable summer's Monday this energetic show turned it into a musical Monday!

Act two takes place in mid 1963, Bobby and the cast did a awesome accapella version of You Really Got a Hold on Me the highlight of the evening, it would have been wicked for there to have been another.

The packed theatre was full of mature teenagers who lapped up every minute of the hit songs and polished routines.

If you liked Dreamboats and Petticoats then Dreamboats and Miniskirts is a must for you, even if you have never seen D & P this is a fun show.

Runs until Saturday, 1st August.
