Dirty Rotten Scoundrels written by Jeffrey Lane with music and lyrics by David Yazbek tells the story of two conmen who meet and have a bet that they can out do each other when it comes to extracting money out of wealthy women... little do they know.

Based on the film of the same name that starred Michael Caine and Steve Martin as Lawrence Jameson and Freddy Benson in this stage production the roles are played by Michael Praed  and Noel Sullivan - there is a terrific natural rapport between them, both have great voices and excellent stage presence.

Set in the French Riveria it is a delightful evening of great songs, amusement, deception, kidnap, romance and so much more...

Carley Stenson probably better known to most people as Steph Cunningham in Hollyoaks was superb as Christine Colgate playing a wonderful game with Larry and Freddy sucking them in and turning them over.

Not to be outdone by Praed, Sullivan or Stenson the irrepressible Gary Wilmot shone in the role of Andre Thibault, Larry's right hand man in more ways than one he has a flirtatious relationship with the talented Geraldine Fitzgerald as Muriel Eubanks. Phoebe Coupe as Jolene Oakes a oil heiress from Oaklahoma with more than a passing interest in Lawrence was one of the highlights during the first act.

The leading actors are superbly supported by a fantastic ensemble who sang and danced their hearts out to perfection accompanied by a live orchestra led by musical director/pianist Ben Van Tienen.

There are some class one liners in the super script together with plenty of laugh out loud moments, a hugely entertaining show that is sure to put a smile on your face.

Runs until Saturday, 10th October at the Bristol Hippodrome.
