A NIGHT of rock and nostalgia is coming to Worcester's Huntingdon Hall, thanks to the Paul Rodgers tour.

And on the bill will be rock diva, Deborah Bonham, the sister of John Bonham of Led Zeppelin fame, with a history of sell-out shows behind her.

A spokesman said: "Beginning another year on a high with her triumphant sold-out show during London Blues Week at the legendary 100 Club in January, worldwide festival favourite Deborah Bonham and her powerful band featuring players from Black Sabbath, Steve Marriott and Rory Gallagher have just been confirmed to accompany the legendary Free, Bad Company and The Firm vocalist, Paul Rodgers on his Free Spirit UK tour, as he revisits his phenomenal catalogue with one of music’s’ seminal blues-rock bands."

Paul said: "It was so inspirational playing Free material with Deborah Bonham's band, led by guitarist Pete Bullick, when we played charity gigs, I promised myself that someday we would tour the UK with this band. Well; that someday has come”.

Deborah Bonham will be accompanied by former Robert Plant guitarist, Dougie Boyle, who recorded with Deborah and the band on her album, ‘The Old Hyde’ and performed with the band at the 100 Club show in January.

The spokesman added: "On stage over the last few years she has sung with Paul Rodgers - Deborah’s mesmerizing performance at The Royal Albert Hall as his guest received a standing ovation at the sell-out concert. When Blues Matters! caught her duet with Dan McCafferty of Nazareth, it was a vocal marriage made in Heaven.

"More recently, Robert Plant stepped on stage unannounced to a delirious crowd at Deborah Bonham’s show to perform Led Zeppelin’s ‘When The Levee Breaks’ with her band and then Johnny Kidd & The Pirates’ classic, ‘Shakin’ All Over’ with Deborah, delighting the crowd with their obvious shared, magical chemistry."

The date for the diary is Friday, March 17, from 7.30pm.
