TWO talented young choirs will come together for first time for a Music in Quiet Places concert, at Colwall.

A spokesman said: "Beautiful young voices from across the county are once again set to team up with a charitable trust, to bring inspiring music to one of Herefordshire’s most special places of worship.

"Choirs from Hereford Cathedral School and Malvern St James as well as local guest choirs will come together in a programme of music spanning two centuries."

The event, which will take place at St James the Great Church, in Colwall from 7pm n February 24, is part of the second series of Herefordshire Historic Churches Trust ‘Music in Quiet Places’ concerts, in collaboration with Hereford Cathedral School (HCS).

"In this particular concert we will be privileged to hear the two choirs demonstrate their unique styles, but also to come together for parts of the programme.

"The choral music will be interspersed by a selection of instrumental chamber music including one of the Cathedral School’s piano trios, (violin, cello and piano), and violin and cello works by Elgar and Wieniawsky accompanied on the piano”.

The programme will works from Purcell to Chilcott, including choral works by Brahms, Saint Saens and Bruckner with new arrangements of favourites by Elgar and Burton.
