ARMED Forces Day at the Huntingdon Hall in Worcester will see an especially rousing celebration, thanks to a performance by the Chivenor Military Wives Choir.

The choir will be well-known to fans of the BBC show, The Choir: Military Wives, which features the celebrity music meister, Gareth Malone.

The show at the Huntingdon Hall will be presented by Worcester Lions Club.

A spokesman said: "As it will be Armed Forces Day, money raised will go to various forces charities.

"The event is also being put on as part of the Lions Internationals Centenary Year celebrations. Worcester Lions Club has been serving Worcester and the surrounding area since it's formation in 1969 and is just one of over 46,000 Lions Clubs world wide."

The spokesman added: "We are told that the choir will be up to 30 strong and that their program will include their UK Christmas Number 1, Wherever You Are."

The performance will starts at 7.30 pm on Saturday, June 24.
