GLOBAL hit The Blue Man Group splashed into Birmingham on Thursday for a colourful performance incorporating art, music, comedy and state-of-the-art technology.

The performance art group, which has captivated more than 35 million people of all ages worldwide, formed in 1990 in New York City and for a limited time can be seen at Birmingham’s International Convention Centre, as part of its World Tour, writes Liz Sharpe.

The award-winning Blue Man Group performance billed as ‘the only show as colourful as life’ gives audiences a unique form of entertainment as it is so interactive.

People are asked to take part in the show if they are selected by one of the trio of entertainers, who seek out viable candidates in the crowds.

There is a very fun and exciting finale where the audience is covered in streamers before having extremely large inflatable balls thrown out to the crowds for everyone to push around.

The show is able to captivate young and old by using multi-levelled humour and referencing modern technology –something we can all relate to.

The humorous and relatable show is not one to be missed – as you will likely leave with a big smile on your face.

The Blue Man Group show has performed in over 20 countries as well as having permanent theatrical productions in New York, Las Vegas, Boston, Chicago, Orlando and Berlin.

People can join in with the Blue Man Group excitement by using the hashtag #BlueManBrum and @THSHBirmingham.

The show is running for nine days with the last show on Saturday, January 6.
