Gwatkin Cider’s seventh Down on the Farm Festival kicks off in Abbey Dore on Friday, August 10. The Festival started as a one-day event in 2012 and then expanded to a three day festival in 2013. The owner of Gwatkin Cider, Denis Gwatkin has played in several bands since his teenage years with most of the practice sessions and performances being at the farm.

"Our aim," says Denis, "is to give local up and coming bands the opportunity to play live on stage alongside more established names on the live music circuit.

"Over the last few years we have managed to book the superbly entertaining Dr & The Medics, the fantastic tribute act Hats off to Led Zeppelin, Guns n’ Roses Experience, Bootleg Blondie, folk-punk legends Sons of Clogger, the fuel injected rockabilly band The Delray Rockets, Under A Banner, Artstar, Headsticks, local favourites the BBC Acoustic band ……the list goes on."

Last year's festival was headlined by the legendary Dr Feelgood, and this year's line-up includes Mark Chadwick, lead singer from The Levellers, Red Room Therapy, Sons of Clogger and ska party band 2Rude.

Returning this year after its success in previous years is the festival's second stage, now renamed The Garden Stage, which will showcase a variety of acoustic bands and solo artists throughout the weekend, and with everything under cover, the weather won't have a chance to spoil the fun.
