A FORMER software developer at DERA/Qinetiq and baritone singer will be holding a concert at Malvern Baptist Church on Saturday, August 23.

Ian Gifford is currently studying a postgraduate diploma course at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester and will be performing along with his fiancé, pianist Lulu Yang.

The concert will include music by Vaughan-Williams, Debussy, Schubert, Chopin, Rodrigo and Tchaikovsky and also feature the musical talents of local mezzo-soprano Elaine Fleming (who performed a recital of English songs at Great Malvern Priory last year) and local pianists Barry Stone and Philip Holland.

A Musical Journey: Songs and Music From Home and Abroad will begin at 7.30pm with tickets costing £7.50 on the door at the Abbey Road church, Great Malvern.

Children will be admitted free and refreshments will be available during the interval.
