THE falling of the leaves will not see a drop in the standard of live shows at Ledbury’s Market Theatre.

From a Shadows tribute act to continental royalty, the Market Street venue has lined up an impressive autumn programme.

First up will be Confessions of Honour on Saturday, September 13, at 8pm.

The Opus Theatre Company will bring a touching and amusing tale of a VC hero to the stage.

Frederick Salisbury was decorated in World War Two, but did he actually do what he thought he did, to win his impressive medal?

Malvern Big Band will be in action on Saturday, September 27, at 8pm, and the Ledbury Amateur Dramatic Society’s autumn show, Noel Coward’s Blithe Spirit, will run for four evenings from October 15 to 18.

On Saturday, October 25, Shadows tribute band will arrive at 8pm “with a little bit of Cliff”.

The Hijinx Theatre Company from South Wales will present The Other Woman on Saturday, November 1.

Another World War Two tale follows the story of a young mother who is left in a lonely farmhouse while her husband goes off to fight.

Consequences follow when a conscientious objector comes to stay and she disguises the renegade as her female cousin.

On Friday, November 28, The King of Spain’s Daughter will make her curtsy.

Gloucestershire’s Old Spot Theatre Company is promising a feel-good evening, with the focus on the magic of old Spain.

The season comes to a close on Friday, December 12, with One Enchanted Evening.

Magician extraordinaire Mark Townsend will show there is often more to life than meets the human eye.

The box office is Ledbury Tourist Information Centre and the number is 01531 636147.
