MALVERN-based glass artist Jackie Harris is exhibiting a positively glowing range of glass work at Malvern Library this month.

Using a variety of glass techniques Jackie has created a varied showcase of windows, panels and decorative pieces all of which are unique.

Pieces include three kiln-formed panels with a music theme, a cabinet dedicated to designs using recycled bottle glass and some experiemental panels using broken pottery and a steel safety shoe sole rescued from the embers of a bonfire.

Jackie said: “This exhibition has given me a licence to explore a wider range of the uses and beauty of glass rather than the normal constraints of working on private commissions for domestic windows.”

She said interesting, discarded objects had inspired her to incorporate other materials into her designs.

“I hope anyone visiting the library will enjoy looking at the display as much as I have enjoyed making the pieces,” she said.

All the glass artworks are for sale and the exhibition runs until the end of October in the library display cases near the entrance and down stairs. For more information visit www.jackieharrisglass.co.uk.
