A NEW live acoustic music event begins this month in the recently refurbished Hop Pole in Bromyard's Market Square.
The inaugural night on Saturday, October 25, will have a firmly local slant with performances from up-and-coming acts Toby Wainwright Johns, Elspeth Macrae and two-piece band Fellfield.
Ally Hardy, from gig organiser Umbrella Factory, said of Hereford-born Toby Wainwright Johns: “He has a maturity beyond his years. He has a resonating, powerful voice that delves between folk, experimental and outsider. He uses it with some strength and combines it with skilful musicianship and lyrical inventiveness.”
To hear snippets of each of these, visit their myspace sites, which can all be found on the friends list of myspace.com/umbrellafactory.
Entry is free for the night with doors opening at 8pm and bands on from 9pm.
Acoustic acts interested in performing at future Umbrella Factory events should leave a message at myspace.com/imperiallive or email Rich Palmer at liveattheimperial@googlemail.com.
