IT’S been a hectic time for Katy Setterfield since she won the BBC1 competition to find ‘the UK’s ultimate tribute act’.
The One and Only hosted by Graham Norton was a huge success at the beginning of 2008 attracting more than 7 million viewers and after seven weeks of live broadcasts it was Katy, a singer from Malvern as an utterly convincing Dusty Springfield, who emerged triumphant.
Katy stole the show with superb renditions of the soul diva’s best-loved hits including You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me, Son of a Preacher Man and All I See Is You.
Katy’s prize was a three month contract to perform in Las Vegas and since she returned to the UK last autumn Katy has barely had chance to draw breath between performing on her first UK solo tour and recording a CD. She managed sell-out performances on a 50 venue, 10-week tour.
In concert at Huntingdon Hall in Worcester tomorrow, Saturday, January 16, Katy’s new show is entitled Here Come The Girls and will feature her incomparable Dusty with tribute’s to other famous female singers, including Cher, Tina Turner, Annie Lennox, Bette Midler and the greatest hits from Motown.
Katy discovered her ability to sound like other vocalists while singing in the touring musical show That’ll Be The Day and with a schedule of more than 200 performances a year Katy learned how to deliver a song to maximum spine-tingling effect.
Here Come The Girls is at 8pm and tickets cost £15. Contact Worcester Live on 01905 611427 for ticket availability and further information.
