THREE highly experienced musicians bring their brand of musical gumbo to a picturesque rural setting this month.
Mumbo-Jumbo, who have 115 years of performance experience and 5,500 gigs between them, present their live show at The Fold, in Bransford, on Saturday, March 23.
Their semi-acoustic offerings take elements of blues, bluegrass, rockabilly and country along with their own Brit folk heritage to deliver an entertaining brand of music suited to the live arena.
The three-piece share responsibilities for vocals while Oliver Carpenter features on trumpet and percussion, Chris Lomas on bass and guitar, and Abby Brant on piano and vocals.
Poets from the Worcester Literary Festival will provide wordy distractions and for those with rumbling stomachs there is a special Blues-inspired food menu.
Tickets are £6 in advance or £8 on the door.
The event will also see the launch of this year’s Blues at The Fold, which returns on Saturday, July 7 for its fourth year.
For one night only tickets for the nine-hour bonanza will be available at a knock-down price of £10.
Three of the bands already confirmed show the growing appeal of the event, with Earl Green and the Right Time from London, Steve ‘Big Man’ Clayton from Germany and Malvern’s very own BabJack.
Away from the music there will be great food, local beers, cider, perry and wine to sample, poetry readings to lose yourself in and designer workshops to browse.
