Three concerts to cater for all tastes

THREE consecutive nights of music at The Courtyard in Hereford should appeal to all manner of audiences.
Hereford Concert Society presents the Galliard Ensemble on Thursday, April 19 from 7.30pm and the wind quintet’s performance will include Taffenel’s Quintet in G minor, Patterson’s Comedy for Five Woods and Ilbert’s Trois Piece Breve.
Then, Hazel O’Connor, the star of cult film Breaking Glass will treat the audience to material spanning her 10 albums and her 32 year career, including hits from the award-winning film score on Friday, April 20 at 8pm.
Her performance in the film won her the Variety Club of Great Britain Award for Best Film Actor, and BAFTA nominations for Best Newcomer and Best Film Score. The soundtrack album went Gold and spent 28 weeks in the charts.
One of the most popular bands in the mid-60s, with 23 top twenty singles, 10 hit albums and appearances in three major movies and countless TV shows to their name completes the run on Saturday, April 21.
Herman’s Hermits will play the likes of Can’t You Hear My Heart Beat, Mrs Brown You’ve Got A Lovely Daughter and There’s A Kind of Hush from 8pm.
