Roll up for the Magical Mystery Tour
THE authentic sound of the original Fab Four will come to life thanks to the combined talents of a less than ordinary tribute band.
Upbeat Beatles, who have been re-creating the excitement and raw energy of The Beatles since 1997, bring their Magical Mystery Tour to Malvern Theatres on Saturday, May 19.
Those with a Ticket to Ride in the Forum from 7.30pm will encounter no tricks and no backing tracks the four-piece, just powerhouse vocals and close harmonies pumped out with a driving backbeat.
As well as mimicking the tunes that sparked Beatlemania, the tribute artists each come with their own impressive rock background.
John Wilson, who steps into the shoes of Paul McCartney, was lead singer and songwriter with The Dodgers, as well as fronting the Average White Band and starring in Willy and the Poor Boys with the real Ringo and various members of the Rolling Stones.
The band’s John Lennon, Roger Channing, is former lead singer with international band Hot Stuff, Colin Yates, in the role of George Harrison, is ex-guitarist with several touring bands and Paul Jarrett, as Ringo Starr, is said to be one of the very few singing Ringos with a rocking voice.
They have gained a hard earned reputation for authenticity and attention to detail, counting the Jordanian Royal family, Hollywood actor Michael Douglas and the prime minister of China among the luminaries they have played for.
Tickets are available for £20 and the night is in aid of ROBOCAP, the charity aimed at providing robotic cancer surgery to the residents of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and south Worcestershire.
