Get revved up for jazz

THERE’S now even more reason for jazz fans to get revved up ahead of a long-running festival later this month.

The 27th annual Upton Jazz Festival, which runs from Friday to Sunday, June 22-24, will see a range of cars from the Morgan Motor Company leading a Mardi Gras-style jazz parade as it winds its way through the town during the weekend.

As usual the festival promises to be packed with Dixieland, swing, jive, boogie and rhythm ‘n’ blues, featuring more than 60 concerts in seven venues.

Visitors to the town can expect to see the likes of Chris Barber, British Jazz Award-winner Alan Barnes and US reedsman Dan Block topping a star-studded bill.
