Spring meltdown show at Market Theatre

2:51pm Friday 14th March 2008

A "Spring Meltdown" music show at Ledbury's Market Theatre will bring local bands to the stage and raise funds for St Michael's Hospice.

Taking a bow on Saturday, March 29 at 7.30pm will be The Treefrogs, The Three Amoebas, Jarvis Trigg, Zen Archeray and Elyssian.

Some members of Billy Whizz will also take a bow, together with Ragtime Ewan.

Organiser Nick Trigg hopes to raise at last £1000 for the Hospice through ticket sales.

Event spokesman, Marcus Morris said: "The participating musicians are taking no fee and sound equipment will be paid for by Smithsound of Ledbury."

He added: "Les Smith of the Prince of Wales has offered to pay for the hire of the theatre, so that all ticket sales will go directly to the hospice."

Tickets, costing £7.50 each, are available now from the Ice Bytes internet cafe in the Homend.

Organisers do not believe that any tickets will be available on the night.
