FILM and television composer Carl Davis will conduct the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra in a programme of summer classics at Malvern Theatres next weekend.
The 72-year-old musician is the composer of celebrated scores such as those for the BBC adaptations of Pride and Prejudice and Cranford.
In Malvern Carl Davis will lead the CBSO in performances of such favourites as Mendelssohn's Hebrides Overture, Faure's Pavane, Borodin's In The Steppes of Central Asia and Rossini's William Tell Overture.
The concert marks the start of a second annual residency for the CBSO in Malvern, which will see the orchestra give concerts at the theatre in October, November and February, culminating with a performance at the newly re-launched Malvern Festival next June.
Tickets for Carl Davis and the CBSO on Friday, July 19, are available on 01684 892277 or at malvern-theatres.co.uk. They cost £25, £22 and £19.
