MANOS PUESTAS, a flamenco jazz quartet, will bring their unique and exciting sound to the Coach House Theatre in Malvern next weekend, Saturday, March 14.

The band includes virtuoso guitarists Jon Lewis and Matt Sullivan and uses flamenco technique but draws on influences as diverse as gypsy swing, bebop, hip-hop and drum ‘n’ bass.

The quartet play original material and inventive interpretations of classic jazz standards, often with an infectious Latin groove. The four musicians have between them a wealth of musical experience. Matt performs extensively throughout the UK and Spain and is the guitarist for the UK’s largest touring flamenco company Camino del Flamenco. Jon is a well-known performer on the festival scene with shows including the Montreux Jazz Festival, WOMAD and Glastonbury. The will be joined by the Zimbabwean bassist Bryan Paul and renownedUK drummer Steve Laffy.

The evening starts at 7pm and tickets cost £7.50 on the door or can be booked in advance by calling 01684 566860 or 07977 205023. Tickets bought in advance can be used to obtain 10 percent discounts off pre-show dinners and drinks at Prior’s Croft, opposite the theatre and for a free drink after the show.
