Band rocking their way to national finals
11:30am Tuesday 1st May 2012 in Music By Neil Watts
A FIVE-piece rock outfit from the county is busy making strides at a national level.
I Am Ryan from Evesham have progressed to the area finals of Live and Unsigned, the UK’s largest competition for original and unsigned artists, on Sunday, May 13 at The Corn Exchange in Bedford.
Local support could be crucial for Ryan Corbett (vocals), Nigel Timperley (guitar), Rich Mead (bass), Mark Sefton (drums) and Scott Wallace (guitar), with the band is offering to put on transport for those wanting to make the journey as they hope to secure a place on the line-up of Live Fest at The O2 in London.
To get to this stage the band impressed the judge by mixing their own track Pulled Apart with Sweet Dreams by the Eurythmics.
Scott said: “It was a great experience for us to play in front of a crowd that size and to our peers from different areas within the music industry.
“For us to have reached this stage is a great achievement for us as a band and a culmination of all the hard work all five of us have put in.”
They have also been announced for the Stamford Festival in Lincolnshire and Wychwood Festival at Cheltenham Racecourse Friday to Sunday, June 8-10.
