Alba: I used to hate dressing up

Jessica Alba has confessed she used to be a bit of tomboy when it came to fashion.

The Spy Kids 4 actress may be known for her glamorous red carpet style these days, but revealed it's taken her some time to adapt a more girly wardrobe.

"When I was younger, I was really uncomfortable in dresses and high heels or anything like that. Over the years, I've embraced a more feminine side," the 30-year-old told Los Angeles Confidential magazine.

The mum-of-two also said motherhood has made her rethink some of her wardrobe choices.

"I didn't use to wear a lot of colour. I guess I've been more adventurous with my style and clothes since I've become a mother," she added.

Jessica - who has two daughters with husband Cash Warren, three-year-old Honor Marie and Haven, six months - admitted balancing a career with motherhood isn't as easy as it may look.

"It's not perfect. I'm constantly feeling I should be spending more time at home," she continued.

"I installed a kids' corner in the office, and the baby is really easy right now. If I'm not going to be home all day, I know I'll be home at night."

But she wouldn't change a thing: "I feel like I've finally come into my own and become the person I always should have been, or that I always wanted to be. I feel more grounded, free and comfortable in my own skin than I ever have."
