A TALE of how a prince was released from a curse should entertain all the family.

Beauty and the Beast is presented by Conquest Productions at the Conquest Theatre in Bromyard and follows a young, arrogant prince in a faraway land who courts a terrible fate when he upsets one of the woodland fairy folk.

He is transformed into a beast by the fairy’s curse and can only be saved by the true love of a maiden.

While Beauty is a dreamy girl who would love a handsome prince to sweep her off her feet and little does she know her rich and comfortable world is about to be turned upside down.

The production has been written, cast and directed by Barbara Hockley, who had originally given up her long-time involvement with the Conquest Youth Theatre last year.

"We have an amazing cast. Principals, minor characters, on-stage musicians. I'm really lucky to work with such committed people, and I'm delighted at what we're creating together."

Her blog about the play can be found on the theatre’s website and its run on the stage starts on Thursday (February 14) and continues until Sunday and then again from Thursday to Sunday, February 21-23.

An exhibition of photographs by Beauty and the Beast photographer Tom Flathers will be featured in the theatre’s foyer.

Tickets are £8 for adults, concessions £7 and £5 for children aged seven and under.
