COMEDIAN Jo Brand will perform a fundraising gig in Hereford for two local charities.

One of the UK best-known comics will take to the stage of The Courtyard on behalf of the theatre and Megan Baker House.

Based in Leominster, Megan Baker House is a charity providing free Conductive Education Services at its centre for children, teenagers and adults with special educational needs and physical disabilities such as cerebral palsy, head injury, stroke, dyspraxia and early on-set Parkinson's disease.

Jo has appeared in Live at the Apollo and on the panel of numerous TV quiz shows such as QI, Countdown and Have I Got News For You.

The star and writer of BBC’s BAFTA award winning series Getting On, she is a patron of both charities and has previously performed a joint fundraiser for them in 2014.

Melanie Denning, Fundraising Manager at The Courtyard says: “Jo’s been such a supportive Honorary Patron for both of our charities for many years and we’re thrilled that she is able to squeeze some time from her hectic schedule to be with us for two comedy gigs in one night in May. We can promise a fantastic evening with great laughs:all supporting two great local charities.

Lee Gough, Chief Executive of Megan Baker House says: “I am delighted at Jo’s offer to, once again, come and support our charities. We both value Jo’s support and that of the local community to help us raise much needed funds.

Jo Brand will be at The Courtyard on Wednesday May 24 for two performances in the Main House at 6.30pm and 8.30pm.
