WORCESTER has once again been chosen to host The Royal Photographic Society’s international touring exhibition.

The International Images for Science exhibition will be hosted at The Hive during British Science Week 2017, which runs from March 10 to March 19, and local people have until March 22 to catch up with the display.

The exhibition, which actually opened last month, has already proved to be a talking point for visitors and local people.

A spokesman said: "It features some of the world’s best science photography with astonishing scientific shots with beautiful and striking images of interest to everyone."

Anne Hannaford, Director of Arts and Culture at the University, said: “We are thrilled to once again be hosting the RPS exhibition at The Hive, particularly during British Science Week. Bringing science and art together through photography sparks curiosity in young people and helps them explore and view the subject with interest and enthusiasm.”

In addition to the RPS International exhibition, there will be a series of smaller exhibitions on the Lower Ground Floor at the Hive.

These include ‘Fragments’ by Mike Hallett and ‘A Nostalgia for Beauty’ by David James.

A spokesman said: "These thought provoking images showcase the photography of academics at the University who are also fellows of the RPS."

There will also be a public lecture on March 14 entitled ‘the Science of Beauty’ which is free and open to the public, and between March 11 to March 30, Tania March’s ‘Time Contained’ will be on display at Worcester Cathedral.

This exhibition of figurative paintings explores the notion of pausing a single moment in time.

On Saturday, March 18th, the RPS and the University will be running a fun and informative project for families where participants will make a microscope and explore the camera functionality on their smart phones..
