INTERNATIONAL flamenco company, Mi Flamenco is coming to the end of its UK spring tour, which is bad news for lovers of castanets and clicking heels.

But the good news is, the final stop will be The Courtyard, in Hereford.

A spokesman said: “This is your last chance to see this show with all the spirit of authentic, pulsating flamenco, intertwined with the unexpected.

“Exciting, moving flamenco dance, powerful song, virtuoso guitar and cello; with lots of charm, imagination and theatre thrown in: Mi Flamenco bring creative, authentic flamenco to audiences worldwide, dispelling the stereotypical image that flamenco often carries.”

The spokesman added: “This company is produced and directed by husband and wife team Ester and Uri Tal. Ester is lead female dancer and artistic director, and Uri is the guitarist, whose original musical compositions intertwine with more traditional forms to make this show a real treat for music-lovers everywhere. Ester and Uri bring with them other artists of the highest calibre.”

Ester is UK born, but was drawn to Spain by her love of everything Spanish, combined with her desire to dance flamenco. She moved to Madrid in 1993, where she met her guitarist husband, Uri .

Mi Flamenco have, at their heart, the gypsy singing from Jerez – the birthplace of flamenco singing.

The spokesman added: “Their powerhouse of a singer, the characterful Luis El Mono, is “Jerez” through and through:

Joining them on tour is the amazing cellist, Nick Squires, who adds his own particular grace and beauty to Mi Flamenco’s production; Incognito. This production promises to delight theatre-lovers, and music and dance fans, as well as die-hard flamenco aficionados, intending to entertain them with beauty, grace, power and the unexpected.”

The date for the diary is March 30, at The Courtyard in Hereford.
