Puppet play for children

A CHILDREN’S play that uses puppets, mime and a touch of real magic will be staged at Malvern Theatres tomorrow, Saturday, July 4.

The production, by the children’s theatre company Garlic Theatre, is a tale about a young boy, the Sorcerer’s Apprentice, who left alone in a castle feels a tingling in his finger tips and wonders if he can work a magic spell all by himself.

A whirl of magic brings an old broom to life and it dances and spins across the stage. It begins to fill the sorcerer’s cauldron with water and dances faster and faster as it fetches more and more water. The young apprentice watches transfixed as a flood of water rises up. Will he be able to undo the spell before his master returns.

This is a bewitching story of mystery and enchantment, perfect for children aged three-six. Tickets cost £6 and there are performances at 11am and 2pm. Call the theatre on 01684 892277.
