A HORSE got stuck upside down in gorse bushes last night after falling down a steep hill.

Firefighters were called to Marstow, near Ross-on-Wye, just after 6pm.

Crews had to dig a level platform and steps next to the horse so that they could attach straps and ropes to pull the 24-year-old Welsh Cob called Cora upright.

“With guidance throughout from a veterinary surgeon and the horse’s owners keeping it calm and offering comfort, our crews worked patiently for nearly two hours in some very steep, muddy and slippery conditions to bring about the safe rescue of the horse," said

Well done again to our gallant firefighters who deserve so much praise. The vet was obviously a diamond too, and all others who helped in this difficult rescue.
So glad to hear the horse is doing well after its traumatic ordeal.
