Donate a shoe box for needy
11:30am Friday 2nd November 2012 in News
LEDBURY’S historic Masters House is playing host to Operation Christmas Child, a charity scheme aimed at supporting needy children around the world.
Ahead of the festive period, people are being asked to fill a shoebox with educational supplies, hygienic items and toys to bring a bit of Christmas cheer to those who would otherwise go without.
Steve Speller, joint managing director for Speller Metcalfe, which is working on the restoration of the Masters House, said: “These children often don’t have the most basic of items, such as toothbrushes and toys or pens and paper.
“While things remain difficult in the UK, we must always remember those who are less fortunate. Please donate whatever you can.”
Shoeboxes can be dropped at the Masters House in St Katherine’s, until Friday, November 16.
