A MAN was caught speeding at more than twice the limit near Ledbury.
Dale Thompson, from Pendock Road, Redmarley, was registered doing 67mph in a 30mph zone at Munsley on the A417 between Ashperton and Newtown.
He told Hereford Magistrates Court that he was running late for a work meeting, but accepted that was not really an excuse.
“I don’t remember driving at that speed and was following a line of traffic which was doing that speed,” he said.
The 48-year-old had six penalty points endorsed on his driving license, was fined £380 and ordered to pay court costs of £60 and a £15 victim surcharge.
