*damage

It never ceases to amaze me just how many idiots race around supermarket car parks....

Every time I go to Belmont Tesco's at least one idiot will be driving too fast to avoid a pedestrian, should they stray into the path of the vehicle..

Personally, I would like to see parking enforcement officers stopping people from parking where they shouldn't and driving too fast in supermarket car parks

Perhaps the Council should run courses on how to drive in car parks and give everyone who attends a free car for their troubles?

It's a car park, anyone who's not looking where they are going (faces buried in phones no doubt) deserve to be run over.

But back to the topic at hand - why don't they look on the cctv? It's plastered all over the city.

Whilst I hesitate to say this after the blasting I've had from someone called Shihtzu (something like that anyway), at least it's a free car park, unlike anything we have in Ledbury at the moment.

We are presently being prevented from having a real out of town supermarket with free car parking and an easily accessible petrol station by the vested interests of the "high street" shop owners cartel.

(maybe Mr. Shitz is their leader!)

Biomech - joking I trust about people deserving to get run over. Yeah people should be looking where they are going and listening too but if they don't then it's up the responsible people driving the deadly weapons to take care surely.

The language used hardly helps - "A parked Honda motorcycle was in collision with...." - why can't they say it like it is - someone in the car drove into a parked motorbike. In most cases it would be the same with cars hitting people and bikes - it's hardly a fair fight - life would be better if the drivers had a bit of concern for the unprotected on the road - they could be your kids or aged mother

-"Biomech - joking I trust about people deserving to get run over. "-

I'm afraid not! I'm not saying drivers shouldn't be cautious and watch where their going, but there are FAR too many idiots walking around without any concern to their own safety. I mean come on, this is a concrete slab that is designed for cars to constantly drive around, you HAVE to watch where you're going.

As I said in a previous post, there's no personal responsibility anymore. If someone gets hit because they blindly walked out infront of a car - it's the drivers fault. If someone trips over a curb because they have their head buried in their phone, it's the councils fault.

If the "responsible" people are the only ones looking out for peoples safety, then there's no reason for the other people to bother.

... I've actually invented a new game. You walk through town and when someones steaming through with their face buried in their phone, walk into them. Whoever gets the most wins!

Move to Hereford, we have at least 7 and they are building ANOTHER in the centre of town. In fact, look what I just found from 2010.

Sometimes it is the cockup design of the carparks themselves, that Morrisons in Leominster has no pedestrian walkways at all,one has to march with the cars,

Well I had a confrontation a few years ago with two women Pc's in a police car at the junction of Aylestone Hill and Southbank Rd.I was walking across Southbank Rd when they turned into it from Aylestone Hill. They stopped and tooted the horn at me for walking in front of their car when it was my priority to do so as I was half way across the road when they entered it.
Ok I did swear at them whilst pointing out the highway code but they sure know what to do next time.

William Rudd- how can it be your priority to Walk across a road when there's a car coming- police car or otherwise? If you were only half way across then perhaps you should look a bit better next time. Swearing at police officers isn't a great thing to do- one day you'll swear at the wrong person! And probably next time they'll toot their horn again!
