Herefordshire Housing celebrates tenth anniversary

HEREFORDSHIRE Housing has celebrated its 10th anniversary.

It all began in 2002 when council tenants in Herefordshire transferred their homes to the independent housing association.

A decade on, chief executive Peter Brown said in the past decade thousands of properties have been upgraded and about 4,500 people have found new homes.

“It’s been a huge team effort with our tenants and the public to show how a non-profit making organisation can transform services and neighbourhoods,” he added.

The association is planning to build 230 new homes in the county over the next four years.

I very much doubt if some of the elderly tenants are celebrating. Homes that were built for the elderly, now housing alcoholics, drug users etc all living on the same estates
