County cattery closes doors after 20 years

A COUNTY cattery has closed its doors after 20 years.

Veterinary nurses Angela Hall, aged 64, and Diana Houlton, 65, set up the Stile Cottage Cattery in Dormington.

They planned to retire next year but, due to Angela’s ill health over the last few months, have closed the centre.

Angela said: “It has been hard saying goodbye as over the years we have become so fond of the many cats we have cared for and their owners.

“It will be sad and hard not running the cattery any more but it just isn’t possible to continue.

“Retirement will be spent seeing all the sights that we haven’t been able to due to work over the years.

“We’ve been here for 20 years and have never even been to Symonds Yat.”

Put your feet up girls. You've spent your lives well.
My very warmest regards to you both.

I wonder if they'll be disappointed by Symonds Yat.
I wasn't. I had a lovely afternoon down there with the missus and bin lids.
We even hired a canoe for a cheeky paddle in the Wye.

Just maybe, rather than organising a council protest, we could all get together to organise a trip to Symonds Yat for these well deserving Ladies.
Perhaps have a nice pub lunch while we're there.
