PENDOCK School held a tea party for parents and members of the local community to celebrate the arrival of a party of visitors from its partner school in Tanzania. The chair of governors, Simon Rowe hosted the tea party which was attended by many people from the village, as well as parents.

Local councillor Tom Wells attended and was impressed by the support shown.

Salma Mrisho and Peter Semwija were with the school for a week and taught the children about Tanzania, which included instruction in traditional Tanzanian dancing.

In return the pupils demonstrated their skills at English country dancing.

Jo Evans, a teacher at the school who visited Tanzania over the summer, said the tea party “was a lovely welcome to our guests.”
