Our play area is a pile of junk

IT may look like a pile of junk but this pioneering PlayPod is an innovative way of learning that is proving a big hit at Ledbury Primary School.

Situated in the school playground, pupils of all ages can spend their break times dreaming up weird and wonderful inventions using all manner of ropes, pipes, cogs and tyres from the regularly-replenished stockpile.

The school believes the PlayPod brings out children’s creative sides as well as encouraging them to explore and learn through their play.

As well as proving popular with Ledbury pupils the PlayPod has drawn admiring glances from other local schools, with several seeking more information about it or calling by to see it in action.

Self-help without demand for taxpayer funding and unlikely to be vandalised. Excellent!
