Quick-thinking Leominster cleaner praised

A CLEANER who came to the rescue of a man when he fell in his home said she was “only doing what anyone else would have done”.

Nina Dloniak was working for Leo Pest Control in Leominster’s Cennick Court when she heard cries for help coming from one of the rooms.

The 25-year-old followed the shouts and found 77-year-old Thomas Roberts struggling to breathe after falling on his way to the bathroom.

Nina called out for help inside the residential home for the elderly and phoned the emergency services, all the time reassuring Mr Roberts and moving him into a position that allowed him to breathe more easily.

Nina, who lives in Leominster, said: “Any time anyone needs help I will always help them, just like I have people who will always help me.”

Emma Tobin, who works for Marches Housing Association which manages Cennick Court, said: “It is reassuring to staff and residents that our contractors share our values of care and social responsibility.”

Mr Roberts has made a steady recovery after last month’s fall and is back at the home.
