Archive materials studied

A STUDY of archived material, including old oil paintings, is to be undertaken by Ledbury Town Council.

Councillors Bob Barnes and Allen Conway have examined the archives recently and found that the material mostly consists of records from the 20th century and burial records.

But there are also paintings that used to hang in the Market House, and images of these could soon be place on the Old Ledbury website, to see if anyone can identify them and supply further information.

Councillor Keith Francis, a prominent member of the Ledbury and District Society, has volunteer to inspect the archives in more detail, with the help of other councillors.

Copies will be madse of any important written records found, for the sake of posterity.
