Youngster is magic

A NINE-year-old magician from Ledbury has conjured up more than £6,000 to support Acorns Children’s Hospice.

Kind-hearted Morgan Price raised the money during a fund-raising performance at Hereford United Football Club.

The Ashperton Primary School pupil, who performs as The Amazing Morgan, raised a total of £6,424 and was presented with a special thank you card when she visited the hospice to hand over the proceeds.

The performance was the second smash-hit fundraiser for Acorns.

The first, An Evening with the Amazing Morgan and Friends, raised just under £5,000 in 2010.

Acorns’ community fund-raiser Mandie Fitzgerald said: “She’s truly amazing.

“For one so young to do such a brilliant job of persuading everyone to support the event is almost unbelievable”.

Morgan’s father Keith said she was now planning a third event, potentially in Birmingham to an audience of as many as 1,000 people.

“Morgan is an extremely hard-working little girl who takes her magic training and rehearsing very seriously,” he said. “We are proud of her success, but even prouder of the way she has kept her feet firmly on the ground.”
