Auction to boost school’s funding

SCHOOL funds will be boosted by a forthcoming auction of promises at the Ann Cam Primary in Dymock.

The local community has proved itself able and willing to help the school in recent times.

Two years ago, nearly £4,000 was raised towards the re-wiring of the school, and now the governors are asking for local businesses to pledge a promise for an Auction of Promises to be held on Friday, March 8.

Donations already received include a day of electrical work, the hire of a wedding vintage car, hospitality at a top sports match and a roast dinner cooked for four.

Governors chairman Sara Jane Watkins said: ‘This is a great way for a local business to promote themselves to our parents, many of whom purchase locally, and this is your way of showing commitment to your local school and raising your profile.

“Ann Cam School is dedicated to fund-raising in order to continue our investment in ensuring that our pupils receive the best learning experience possible within inspiring facilities. Funds raised from the auction will co-fund all capital projects at the school.”

The event in the school hall will kick off at 7pm with a bar and nibbles, and the auction will start at 7.30pm.
