Hospice shop is to party

LEDBURY Mayor Phill Bettington will launch the town’s Acorns Children’s Hospice store’s birthday celebrations to mark a great year of community support.

Store staff at the New Street store are planning a big celebration with a cake-cutting ceremony on Friday, February 1, to mark a successful first year in the town for the hospice, raising funds to care for local life limited children.

Ledbury’s town crier Bill Turberfield will join in with bell-ringing support the following morning, Saturday February 2, rousing the town to broadcast the birthday news.

Wendy Webb, Acorns’ Ledbury manager, said: “It has been a good first year, with lots of donations and people visiting the store.

“We want to thank everyone for their donations and custom and to keep the support coming.”
