5:00pm Friday 25th January 2013 in News
POPULAR: Lee Vine’s funeral will take place on Tuesday.
LEATHERS and brightly coloured clothing are to be the order of the day when the funeral of popular Ledbury motorcycle enthusiast Lee Vine takes place.
Mr Vine, also known as “Wooty”, died on Friday, January 11 after suffering severe burns when he was hit by a fireball from a garden bonfire several days earlier.
Ledbury will join together to pay tribute to the 50-year-old, who owned Lee Motorcycles, when his funeral takes place in St Michael and All Angels at 11.30am on Tuesday.
Mr Vine’s family, including partner Lyn Wall, children Luke and Leanne, stepson Sam and brother Jason, hope motorcyclists will form a procession in his honour.
“Wooty would love that with his love of bikes,” said Ms Wall, who added: “Leathers and bright clothing are the order of the day.”
Ms Wall, who described Mr Vine as a “gentle giant with a wicked sense of humour”, said she wanted to thank everyone who had been in touch with messages of sympathy and support for the family since Mr Vine’s death.
A cremation will take place in Hereford at 1.30pm after the funeral service. Everyone is welcome but capacity at the crematorium is limited to 200 so priority will be given to family and close friends.
Everyone is then welcome to join the family for a wake taking place at Ledbury Rugby Club, in Ross Road.
Family flowers only are requested but donations can be made in aid of the Air Ambulance.
