LEDBURY Town Council looks set to refund the cost of a new costume for town crier Bill Turberfield.
Mr Turberfield has spent his own money on his new attire.
The costume is in the authentic style of a late 17th century town crier.
The town’s environment and leisure committee has agreed that the authority should make a contribition of £200, towards the cost of the new costume, which will be worn on public duty forLedbury.
The full council will make the final decision when it next meets.
