Boy left lying in road by hit-and-run driver

A TEENAGE boy is recovering from the shock of being knocked down in a hit and run accident.

JohnWilliam Smith, 13, was walking along a country lane near his home in Marden when he heard a car approaching.

He stepped into the verge to let the car pass but says the car swerved towards him, clipping him and making him fall.

The car’s wing mirror was knocked off in the collision at 10am on January 26 but the driver failed to stop.

Brave JohnWilliam, a pupil at Aylestone Business and Enterprise College, escaped serious injury and managed to walk to work on a nearby farm after the accident.

He later told his mum Shirley what had happened.

She said: “He is so brave.

He’s a very soft-hearted boy and always out to help others.

“But what sort of coward hits a child and doesn’t stop to check if they’re injured?

You wouldn’t even hit an animal and leave them.”

mmmmm I don’t disbelief this story BUT if a wing mirror was broken off a car by hitting the lads arm then I’m sure he would have at the very least a huge bruise and I know that if it was me hit I would be able to tell you what sort of car it was and a few digits off the number plate! anyone know what the police are doing about it?
I’m wonder if there is more to this story that we haven’t been told!
