Charity shop's birthday
LEDBURY’S mayor and town crier helped a charity shop celebrate its first birthday in style.
Coun Phill Bettington was the special guest for celebrations at the Acorns Children’s Hospice store in New Street.
He met with local families while town crier Bill “The Bell” Turberfield offered his highly vocal support in inimitable style.
Coun Bettington said: “May Acorns in Ledbury continue to be successful in the next 12 months.
“It’s one of the benefits to the town, to have a shop open and doing well for Acorns. Their work is brilliant.”
Wendy Webb, manager of the shop, said: “It has been a good first year, with lots of donations and people visiting the store.
“We want to thank everyone for their donations and custom and to keep the support coming.”
